Ghost

Process Notes

This illustration was inspired by a Halloween prompt from Retro Supply Company. I wanted to avoid the typical “spooky ghost” imagery and instead explore what gives ghosts their real power: the strange, lingering presence of loss.

For me, a ghost isn’t frightening because of its shape or appearance — it’s haunting because of the devastation it leaves behind, and how that emptiness can linger in life. This piece is an attempt to capture that feeling, the quiet weight of grief and absence, in a visual form.

As with my other digital illustrations, this piece was created using a limited three-colour palette. Each colour is layered to mimic the analogue printmaking process, giving the work a tactile, handcrafted quality while retaining the control and precision of digital tools.
