Tango Till They’re Sore

My version of a Tom Waits song

I’ve been working behind the scenes on a new original album, and one of the tracks called for banjo. So I dusted off this old Kalamazoo tenor banjo from the 1920s and put some new strings on it. Almost immediately, the intro from this song from Tom Waits’ “Rain Dogs” album started to fall out of it.

I absolutely love the sound of this banjo. It still has the original animal skin head, and the tone is warm and weathered, with a really beautiful grain to it.
