Fingerpicky Goodness

an instrumental tune

I wrote this tune while sitting on my couch and working through a few fingerpicking patterns. Nothing complicated. No big plan. Just seeing where my hands wanted to go.

There’s something about fingerstyle playing that pulls me into a different headspace. It becomes meditative. The repetition, the rhythm, the movement of the fingers quiets everything else down.

I can play this one over and over and never get bored.

At first, I thought about writing lyrics for it. It definitely feels like it could hold a story. But then I remembered I’ve been needing instrumental backing tracks for some videos I’m working on. So for now, it lives as it is.

Who knows? Maybe one day the right words will show up. For now, I’m happy letting it breathe on its own.
