The Shoe

“The Shoe” started with no clear plan. I wasn’t sure where it was going or how I’d even show a shoe eating the man wearing it. This was my first attempt at frame-by-frame animation, and I leaned into figuring things out as I went along.

The idea came out of nowhere—I remember pulling on my boots and suddenly imagining one of them turning into a monster. I had the rest of the day free, so I followed that image and let the animation unfold naturally. I also added a simple original banjo soundtrack to accompany it, leaning into the odd, slightly unsettling tone of the piece.
